My wonderful sister Maryellen

The nightmare was bad, monsters in my room
It was dark, everything shaded in gloom
I had to make it down the hall
Even if I had to crawl
I knew if I could make it to her bed
She would take away my dread
She would comfort me and make it right
She would help me make thru the night
I got up my nerve and put my feet on the floor
I took off running straight for her door
I reached her bed and saw her lovely face
She would calm my fears with her warm embrace
Slowly I bent down and whispered in her ear
“Maryellen please help me the monsters are here”
She woke up, lifted the covers and gave me her sweet smile
“All monsters will leave if you lay with me for awhile”
“I can make the monsters go away, it’s not as hard as it seems
But you will have to pay me for giving you nice dreams”
“Anything I said, please stop the monsters attack”
“OK” she said, “All you have to do is rub my back!!!!!!!!!”
